Vandaag heeft Romano Fenati laten zien dat hij snel kan leren en dat hij kan meevechten om een podiumplaats. Tijdens de trainingen gaf hij al aan dat Phillip Island een snel en technisch circuit is en dat het circuit hem wel aanspreekt. Na een iets mindere start kwam Fenati terug in een kopgroep om de 3de plaats. Na een aantal rondjes op de derde plaats te hebben gereden zat er uiteindelijk niet meer in dan een respectievelijke 6de plaats. Een prima prestatie voor Romano die de eerste keer op Phillip Island actief is. Cortese won de wedstrijd en Moncayo werd 2de voor de Australiër Arthur Sissis. Tonucci zat ook als Fenati in de kopgroep om de 3de plaats en werd uiteindelijk 7de net achter zijn teamgenoot. Het was een prima weekend voor het Team Italia. Nu terug naar Europa voor de laatste race die zal plaatsvinden in Valencia.

Now we head to Valencia, a track where I rode during some tests. I like it, and I want to seize the rookie of the year award.”
