Romano Fenati pakte vandaag een prima 7de plaats na een uitstekende wedstrijd op het circuit van Le Mans. Na een iets wat mindere start kwam Romano in een groepje terecht met onder andere Ajo, Binder, Miller en McPhee rondom de 11de plaats. 10 rondes voor het einde maakte Fenny een klein foutje waardoor hij terug zakte naar een 14de plaats. Na een heftige val van Khairuddin en Ajo pakte Fenny nog 2 plaatsen waardoor hij uiteindelijk de 7de plaats veroverde in een spectaculaire wedstrijd. Geweldig resultaat, op naar de volgende GP zou ik zeggen. Dan staat Mugello op het programma. De Italiaan hoopt dan eens voor het podium te gaan, iets wat vorig jaar wel een aantal keer is gelukt.

“It was a good race. Unfortunately I went wide because, while trying to pass McPhee who was slower, I rushed things a little too much. After that I was able to come back, and the feeling on the bike was good. I’m happy with the bike and the work done with the team. Now we head to Mugello, where we’ll try our best to go back on the podium.”

“The weather made for a difficult race. The track was damp and it was easy to make mistakes. Romano was strong and could have finished in the Top 5 if he didn’t make that small mistake, from which he recovered strongly. Pecco also made a huge step forward, lapping closer to Fenati. The contact with Danilo prevented him from taking points. Both riders are improving and we’ll surely be ready for Mugello.”
2 Juni staat de GP van Mugello op het programma. Een echte GP om naar uit te kijken, want de vraag is kan Fenati schitteren als vorig jaar.
