Romano Fenati toch in de punten op het TT circuit van Assen. Na een moeizame kwalificatie met een startplek vanaf een 22ste plaats op de grid was het Romano Fenati die zijn talent nog een onderstreepte tijdens de race. Na een iets wat mindere start kwam Romano zoals altijd prima naar voren, na een touché achter in het veld moest Fenati een gaatje laten vallen, waardoor hij veel tijd verloor op bijvoorbeeld Antonelli en Masbou. Toch was het Fenny die eerst Iwema pakte en daarna richting Baldazarri reed met prima rondetijden. Na een aantal rondes kon Fenny aanpikken bij een groepje rondom de 11de plaats. Uiteindelijk zat er helaas niet meer in dan een 14de plaats, maar wat een prima race. Als Romano zich beter had gekwalificeerd dan was een top 10 finish zeer realistisch geweest. “The race went well, we once again were able to come back, managing the tactical aspects of the race well with the whole team. I had fun, there were some contacts and it was fair game. We just need to start further ahead, as we had the rhythm. In Sachsenring we’ll surely do better”.
