De eerste kwalificatie sessie van het nieuwe seizoen zit alweer erop. San Carlo Team Italia FMI maakte met Romano Fenati weer een prima stap richting de top 10. Fenati zette een 12de tijd neer en was hiermee 1.555 seconde langzamer dan Louis Salom, die wederom het snelst was op zijn KTM. De te kloppen man als je het mij vraagt dit seizoen en zeker een van de kanshebbers om de wereldtitel. Het hele weekend heeft het team gesleuteld aan de Honda-FTR machine en maakte flink wat progressie. Hopelijk kan Fenati dezelfde prestatie leveren als vorig seizoen, de 2de plaats is niet verkeerd.

“Fenati improved his setup. We’re still chasing the positions that we usually obtain easily, but Qatar is an unusual race. We’ll make some adjustments during the warm-up. Bagnaia could have avoided race but decided to come here and he’s doing only positive things, regaining his confidence after the crash. We’re working well and hopefully we’ll be rewarded soon.”
